Statement from US Consumer Coalition on New CFPB Reform Groupposted January 4, 2016
January 4, 2016 – Washington, D.C. – The US Consumer Coalition (USCC) released the following statement in response to news reports of the launch of a new group focused on reform of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
“The US Consumer Coalition (USCC) is not affiliated with, or connected to, a new group identified in a Politico article this afternoon that is using similar messaging and Twitter handles as our coalition. USCC is not aware of who is behind this attempt to trade on USCC’s successful CFPB reform campaign, the Consumer Protection Initiative. USCC will continue to aggressively represent the interests of American consumers as we work to restore transparency and accountability at the CFPB. The official name of USCC’s CFPB reform campaign is the Consumer Protection Initiative, and the official Twitter handle for the organization is @USConsumers.”
