Energy

Policy Position

U.S. consumers benefit from having more — rather than fewer — options in the energy industry. U.S. consumers have a significant interest in the development of all types of energy production in order to increase competition among industries and ensure low costs and availability. USCC advocates for policies that enable companies to explore all types of energy sources, lower energy prices for everyone, and innovate to meet the growing energy needs of consumers.

  • Energy Production: USCC supports a free market for energy products. Excessive regulation, restrictions on the development of new sources of energy, and political activism adversely affect America’s consumers by driving up energy prices, stifling innovation, and restricting research and development in the energy industry. An open energy policy will strengthen our national security, lower energy prices for all Americans, and stimulate a robust economy.  America’s consumers deserve an energy policy that embraces a competitive, diversified market for energy production and distribution.
  • Home Heating Oil: USCC supports a free market for energy products. Consumers should be able to choose from among a competitive market of energy providers. Home heating oil should be unregulated and available as the market provides.
  • Gasoline: USCC supports a free energy market. Consumers should be able to choose from among a competitive market of energy providers. Gas options should be unregulated and available as the market provides.
  • Solar: USCC supports a free energy market. Consumers should be able to choose from among a competitive market of energy providers. Solar options should be unregulated and available as the market provides.
